About Derelict Orbit
You are the only crew aboard orbital station Kestrel-9. There is no floor: grab rails, walls and consoles and pull yourself along, then let go with a flick to fly. Your suit thrusters are only for corrections.
- A different station every run: the deck is generated from a modular kit, a branching corridor network with about seven rooms (power plant, EVA airlock, sleeping quarters, comms, washroom, plus a couple of control room, life support, laboratory, observation deck, gym or server room). Pieces are rotated, so a corridor's grating may be on your ceiling.
- By day: three maintenance tasks per shift on wall terminals, then float back to your bunk to end the shift.
- By night: the main power may fail, you may wake needing the toilet, and something walks the station. Your flashlight freezes it while the beam is on it. Look away and it moves. Survive 7 nights.
- Earth is on the radio: once a shift Gateway Control reads you a message and waits for your report. That uplink tells the story, and it gets stranger every day.
- The haunting escalates: shadows in doorways, flicker, whispers, a watcher down the corridor, shoved crates and blackouts.
Made for Meta Quest 3 (open it in the headset browser and tap ENTER VR). Also plays on desktop with mouse and keyboard, and on phones through an on-screen crew terminal. About a 38 MB download the first time.
Credits: a BioCraftEd Studios game, made by Lucas (BioCraftEd). Built in Godot 4.7. Every sound effect and the radio voice are procedurally synthesised by the game's own tools, and the station kit is built by scripts. More games at https://games.biocrafted.xyz
AI use: no AI-generated art, audio or voice. The game was developed with AI coding assistants, so it is labelled AI-Assisted.
