Empire Tycoon: Rise of Nova Roma is a cozy 3D tycoon game that runs in your browser, where a retired legionary turns a wild Italian valley into a new Rome. You walk the valley in third person, mining stone and building coin machines that strike denarii even when you’re not there. Every machine runs on water, so you have to plan aqueducts and sluices or the whole city stops. Irrigated fields feed your workers and earn you 50% more coin, as long as you keep the channels clear. As Nova Roma grows, your hero goes from a settler in a plain toga to a magistrate, then a bronze-armoured commander, and finally the Imperator in gilded regalia. Your goal is to raise three Great Works, the Mint, the Thermae and the Amphitheatre, and celebrate a Triumph for each one. Nothing needs to be installed, the game plays on desktop and on phones with touch controls, and your progress is saved automatically. It’s made for short relaxing sessions or one long evening, and it fits players who enjoy idle games, city builders, or anything set in ancient Rome.
