STOREGGA - LineWar

STOREGGA is an underwater game for PC, set in the cold North-East Atlantic of 2071. Ten billion people, and the land is full. Thirty million have moved below the sea, into habitats, stations and submarines. The sea was supposed to be empty. It is not. The Vael, a people of the deep known to humans only from old tales, have kept hidden for thousands of years. Now they stop hiding. They speak with whales, dolphins and sharks, and ride them as partners, never as pets. Line War It begins with Line War, an online team battle: humans against the Vael. Two ways to fight. Submarines fight with sonar, torpedoes and noise discipline. Vael riders fight with speed, depth and the senses of their animals. Sound is the battlefield. Density layers in the water bend sound. Ping and you are heard. Go quiet and you might not be found. Silence is a weapon. Fair by design. Every player gets the same purse each match. Real money never buys power. What you can play now STOREGGA is in pre-alpha. The playtest is Line War: submarines against Vael shark riders, online, in one small arena. It looks rough on purpose: what we need to know is how it plays. Expect bugs, unfinished art and unfinished sound. The next build adds the Hunter, a grown Vael war-vessel bred from a shark, with its own living cockpit. The game updates itself when a new build is out. How to join Download and install the game here (Windows, about 780 MB, signed by CodingNexus LLC). Sign up at storegga.org/playtest and confirm the e-mail. We open the playtest in waves; when yours opens, you get a personal tester token. Start Steam, launch STOREGGA, and paste your token under Play → Join a match. You need the token to play online. Treat it like a password and do not share it. Until STOREGGA has its own Steam app, Steam may show you as playing "Spacewar".
