About Torchborn
The world is lost to an endless night. At the heart of your camp burns the last brazier, and it is going out.
One flame is your life, your light, your weapon and your money. Every decision is made on it.
BY DAY, a bearer walks into the dark with a torch that burns down with every step, hunting for wood, oil and embers. Your light is your sight: past its edge, shadows lurk, waiting for it to weaken. Push deeper for more fuel, or turn back while you still can?
BY NIGHT, the same bearer defends the brazier as waves of shadows close in. Strike with the torch, chain three blows for a heavy finisher, parry a leaping shadow to win a little flame back, or throw an ember to blast the dark and leave a pool of light.
BY DEATH, the lineage goes on. Each fallen bearer is replaced by an heir you choose from three, each with a trait. The brazier, the camp and the heirlooms your family has gathered stay with the lineage.
- Procedural map every day: Near Wood, Old Ruins, Echo Caves, and the Source, where the Devourer waits
- A short night is 4 nights (about 15 min). Win it to unlock the long night: 7 nights (about 35 min)

- No tutorial screens: the torch teaches you in its own voice
- All sound made in code, with music that thins out as your flame dies

Controls: WASD / arrows to move, mouse to aim, hold left click to strike, right click to throw an ember.
